Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use browser local storage for similar purposes. Together these mechanisms help us keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is being used.
2. What we store and why
| Name / Key | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| token | Local storage | JWT authentication token that keeps you signed in | Session / JWT expiry |
| activeWorkspaceId | Local storage | Remembers your last active workspace so you land in the right context on return | Persistent |
| theme | Local storage | Stores your light / dark mode preference | Persistent |
| _session | HTTP cookie | Server-side session for OAuth state management during social account connection flows | Session |
3. Third-party cookies
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The only third-party interactions that may set cookies are:
- Google OAuth: sets cookies during the Google sign-in flow on Google's own domain. We do not control these.
- X (Twitter) OAuth: sets cookies during the X sign-in flow on Twitter's own domain. We do not control these.
4. Essential vs optional
All storage we use is strictly necessary for the Service to function. We do not use analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics), advertising pixels, or any tracking that follows you outside of SocialCRM.org. Because we only use essential storage, we do not display a cookie consent banner, but we want to be transparent about what we store.
5. How to manage or clear storage
You can clear all local storage and cookies for SocialCRM.org at any time through your browser settings. This will sign you out and reset your preferences.
In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → search “socialcrm.org” → Delete.
In Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search “socialcrm.org” → Remove.
Note: clearing storage will sign you out of the application.
6. Changes to this policy
If we start using additional cookies or storage mechanisms, we will update this policy and notify users via email or in-app notice before the change takes effect.
